What is social mobility like in Egypt?

Although we complain in America about income inequality and not enough social mobility, the reality is that we have it far better here then many other countries around the world. I was curious in getting a sense of what social mobility was like in Egypt so I interviewed a friend of mine whose parents were born there and has visited the country on multiple occasions. What I found so remarkable about this interview was the steps that his parents went through in order to come to a land with more social mobility.
